DTG RipPro Software | Ripping made Simple

A Brand New DTG RIP
With its simplified workflow, DTG RipPro v.04 makes large/grand format signage and digital textile printing simpler than before. Its simplified methods of device calibration along with easy to operate and use colour correction tools coupled with necessary visualisation at every step of operation makes it all very simple.
You can use the same tool for proofing your multi-channel images on your digital printer. The software composes a multi-channel image (can also apply different raster settings to each channel) and then converts it into the format understood by your printer. All done on the fly while printing.
DTG RipPro v.04 with its features like seamless step and repeat for textile printing, postscript level 3.0 support, simultaneous RIP and print, RIP once and print many, advanced dither for smooth rendering of images on the printer and capacity to drive multiple printers simultaneously becomes a necessary tool for a digital textile printer or a digital signage printer.
It supports bi-cubic interpolation when enlarging the images, while outputting to the printer to ensure best quality output.
Large array of colour correction filters eliminates the need for specialised software.

DTG HM1-C Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much does it cost?
A: The start-up package is $13,995 including the white ink upgrade, Shipping and handling charges are $550.
Q: What is included?
A: The price includes the printer, USB and electrical cords, manuals and drivers, (1) adult size shirt platen, WIMS (waste ink management system) which circulates the white ink, (2) sets of the CMYK inks (4 oz. ml bottle), (1) bottle of cleaning solution (125 ml bottle), (1) large bottle of white ink (16 oz.), (2) bottles of textile pre-treatment (1 liter), (1) Wagner HVLP control sprayer, and RIP-Pro software.
Q: What is the cost of a print?
A: Due to the variables such as size, coverage, resolution and process, print costs fluctuate considerably from design to design. The average for light shirt is @ $0.30, and the average dark shirt is @ $1.50 based on a full size imprint. The RIP Pro software will provide an ink cost for every design printed, allowing you to have that information readily available for job costing.
Q: How long does a print take?
A: Just like print cost, print time will vary substantially based on size, coverage, resolution and process. The average time for a light shirt is @ 75 seconds, and the average time for a dark shirt is @ 3 minutes.
Q: Do the shirts require pre-treatment?
A: White shirts require no pre-treatment. Black and dark shirts require pre-treatment when the use of white ink is required. For example: If you are printing black lettering on a red shirt, you would not need to use the white ink process, and therefore would not be required to pre-treat the garment.
Q: What is pre-treatment?
A: The pre-treatment is a binding agent that allows the white ink to form a molecular bond with the garment.
Q: How is the pre-treatment applied?
A: We recommend the pre-treatment be sprayed onto the garment using the Wagner HVLP power sprayer, which is provided in our machine package. The pre-treated garment should be heat-pressed prior to print for @ 15 seconds. Shirts can be treated in advance and stored for future use.
Q: What kinds of inks are used?
A: The DTG uses DTG Digital Bright textile inks that are water based and eco-friendly. Waste ink can be poured down the drain with no negative impact on our environment.
Q: Do the inks need to be dried/cured?
A: Yes. While inks may appear dry to the touch, they require heat to achieve wash fastness. Heat can be applied by a heat press or conveyer dryer. We recommend the use of a heat press for the most professional looking finish.
Q: What is the cost of the inks/pre-treatment?
A: Each 125 ml bottle of the CMYK ink is $54.95. The 16 oz. bottle of white ink is $165.00. The 1 liter bottle pre-treatment for white ink is $ 30.00.
Q: How are the inks supplied/used with the machine?
A: The DTG uses a bulk ink delivery system, providing notably lower ink costs and prints. The inks come in bottles, and can be re-filled with ease as needed.
Q: I have heard the clogging of the print heads is a common problem. Is this true?
A: While clogging can be a problem with any ink jet printer, clogging with this equipment occurs when the machine sits idle for extended periods of time. The DTG has a WIMS (waste ink management system) will circulate the white ink through the machine when not in use to prevent pre-mature clogging. Our training includes a 5 minute maintenance process that should be conducted before printing and at the end of the day that will eliminate clogging as well. It should be noted that if the machine is left off with the ink in the print head for a week or more, that clogging is a very likely occurrence, and the print head will more than likely have to be replaced.
Q: What is the cost of a print head?
A: The print heads used on the DTG Kiosk II are $350.00. It should be noted that print heads on competitors machinery can be as high as $1,000/ea., and there may be up to four print heads in a machine.
Q: How do the prints wash?
A: When the ink is cured properly, the DTG offers one of the best wash fast results in the industry. An independent study revealed a 1%-3% degradation in color over 5 washes, while the industry average was 7% - 10%.
Q: How long and at what heat level do the shirts need to be cured?
A: White/Light shirts should be cured @ 340 degrees for 120 seconds. Black/Dark shirts should be cured @ 340 degrees for 180 seconds.
Q: What is the warranty?
A: The DTG comes with a standard (2) year warranty for parts and labor. Consumables are not covered, which would include the print head (unless deemed defective).
Q: How long will a print head last?
A: That will depend upon use, but typically 2 years. As a rule of thumb, if you add $0.10/garment to each order for print head replacement, you will more than cover your cost.
Q: What types of files are accepted for print?
A: Any file that can be opened with a graphics program that has a “PRINT” button can be used.
Q: How do I create a white under base of an image for printing on a black/dark shirt?
A: While our software allows you to create your own white underbase, the default settings of our RIP Pro software will do this for you automatically when you select the black/dark shirt and white ink with auto-mask settings.
Q: Can you print on anything besides textiles?
A: Absolutely. We offer a non-textile kit that will give you the ability to print on non-textiles including glass, wood, metal, plastic, ceramics, and many other substrates. Basically you are limited to what you can fit into the drawer of the machine (which has an adjustable bed up to 5” deep), and your imagination. This process involves the use of a special non-textile pre-treatment and an aerosol post treatment that will cure the ink without heat and provide a protective finish.
Q: What is the maximum print area?
A: The HM1-C has a maximum print area of 13” x 18”.
